Mark has been involved in a range of internet projects in Philadelphia and San Francisco but always the emphasis has been on refining strategic decisions and building websites that meet business needs while meeting user needs.
A select number of projects are reviewed in this section.

Charles Schwab: Internal Corporate Portal
Challenge:
Charles Schwab needed a website that would both give employees news relevant to their work as well as impart the spirit of the company to them. The employees also only had five minutes a day to view the site.
Solution:
With 14 stakeholders on the client side, there was an immediate need for consensus. Mark led the client and studio teams in collaborative sessions, which allowed him and his team to collect essential project requirements. Working with Maria Giudice of Hot Studio and the vivid team, a strategy was developed from which came a highly successful internal portal for Charles Schwab. The primary client and project owner had this to say about Mark's work:
"I just wanted you to know that I was absolutely amazed at what has transpired in the past two weeks! Truly, given where we were and the straits we found ourselves in when we sat in that half-conference room at Schwab on July 1st it is incredible! I think a HUGE part of the solution was your ability to propose a solution and put the right players together with the enthusiasm and creativity to make it happen... Thank you so much. I'm very excited about the work.... Thanks Mark and thanks to everyone on your team!"

Smartleaf: Index Fund Management Tool
Challenge:
Smartleaf wanted a better interface on top of its flagship online application. Designed to support investment managers in managing index funds, this tool had all of the right functions but clients found it difficult to use.
Solution: Mark saw that while the Smartleaf team understood their tool, they required a more detailed understanding of their users. By involving the Smartleaf team in several collaborative work sessions, Mark created a sharper vision of the user: what their work requirements are and what questions they have in mind as they approach the online index fund management tool. The tool's functionalities were then realigned with respect to these insights. An easily understood interface and an increased market for Smartleaf is the result

Pacific Gas and Electric Energy Services: Online Energy Assessment Tool
Challenge: PG&E Energy Services needed a tool its customers could use for analyzing energy usage across their company's facilities. The product produced detailed real-time reports on energy quality, billing and/or usage.
Solution: For this project, Mark was responsible for managing the client relationship as well as facilitating the development team and keeping the project on course strategically. Mark was also responsible for ensuring that the final interface, as developed by vivid studio's team, met the client's complex list of needs and user workflows. Additionally Mark facilitated all collaborative sessions between the client stakeholders and the vivid team, owned all contractual documents and negotiations and managed the team and the timeline it followed.

Challenge:
